Important Updates to Apps That We ALL Use

I’m normally pretty good on updating my apps throughout the week, but after putting another ROM on my device I forgot to go in and change my update app preferences.  The next thing I know I wake up this morning and find out that 15 of my apps need updated!  I know people are curious as to what apps I use, the important ones that really do help make your life easier, but I’ll disclose that later in the membership site that I’m setting up 😉

For now I’ll list the updates to app that I know the majority of us use.  So just in case you haven’t checked your Play Store in a while, here’s a summary of some of those apps and what got updated.

The Tech Temple Google+ android, root, gmail, free music, htc, google play, what is android, apps, 2.3, game, market, download, applicatoin, google, community, galaxy, phones, free, google talk, samsung, new, wifi, droid, best, top, tablet, developmet, e-mail, how to, store, twitter, wi-fi, installing, text message, battery life, charge, contacts, restart, reboot

Google+

Android users finally get to experience the huge update to Google+ that iOS users have been using for a couple of weeks now.  Thankfully there’s a thing or two that the Android version has that the iOS version does not, so go download it and check it out.  The new animations look like Flipboard!

Updates in This Version:

– Visual refresh of the stream and improved navigation
– Initiate a Hangout from the main menu
– Support for ringing hangout notification
– Support for post editing
– Messenger suggestions for people you may know
– Download photos from posts or Messenger conversations

Netflix

The newest update to this app allows for even smoother playback on both smartphones and tablets.  Freezing and force closes have also been minimized.  I mention that last sentence because, personally, an app continuing to force close is enough for me to delete it.

Updates in This Version:

– Enhanced playback experience on phones and tablets
– Improved stability

Shazam

I prefer this app over SoundHound because it simply finds more songs and does a better job at doing so.  The ability to watch the app scroll through the lyrics live as the song plays is a great feature as well.  Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, they made it even easier to share songs with friends using Android Beam.

Updates in This Version:

– Sharing using Android Beam: Simply open a tag result, hold your device back to back with your friend’s phone and “Touch to Beam” to swap tags and share your favorite music, videos, special offers and more

  • Note: Both devices need to be NFC-enabled – you can check this in your phone’s settings
