The Polar Vortex has once again made its presence known, bringing negative double-digit temperatures to many parts of the country. It’s times like these that gaming is at it’s finest. A time to sit back, relax, turn the volume up and game ’till your heart’s content. But what if you could immediately add 100+ games to your library and streaming TV for only $1? Microsoft has been pushing hard lately to gain more subscribers onto it’s Xbox Game Pass. For $9.99/ month, it’s a pretty good deal. Benefits of having the Game Pass are:

The normal trial period is normally only 14 days, but a 30-day trial exists if you sign up at the Xbox Game Pass website. The link should also appear on your Xbox One dashboard. As a bonus, you’ll also get a 30-day trial of Sling TV. Sling’s normal trial period of its live TV service is only 7 days, so you’re getting the best of both worlds here. This is time sensitive, so be sure to sign up by the end of January 30, 2019.

One Important Requirement

The only caveat to this deal is that this must be the first time you have ever signed up for Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Live Gold is also required to play online with your friends.

Keep Getting Xbox Game Pass for Free

After experiencing the greatness of Game Pass, you’ll probably want to keep it due to its vast library. There is a way to avoid having to use ten dollars of your own money every month in order to continue your subscription. Hopefully you’ve already signed up for Microsoft Rewards. The Tech Temple’s YouTube Channel has a great piece explaining it’s benefits. To summarize, it gives you free money just for doing what you already do – search the internet.

If you make sure that all of the maximum allotted points are earned every day, you’ll reach the 6,800 point requirement needed to obtain the 1-month pass using your reward points. At the time of this writing I’ve accumulated 7,050 points this month, so the goal is certainly attainable. The searches can be done on mobile, your computer or your Xbox One/ Xbox One X.

Once you accumulate 6,800 points, you’ll be able to purchase the 1-month Xbox Game Pass.
