The openness of Android allows it’s owners to personalize a phone and make it feel more like “their” phone. That’s the thing I love the most about the Android operating system. Two or more people can have the exact same phones, but their screens can look totally different.
One way to make your phone differ from others is by changing your keyboard. Not only does it make your phone different, hit also lets you try to find the one that works best for you. Whether you enjoy pecking or typing, there’s a keyboard out there for you! Ones that I recommend are:
- Stock Gingerbread
- HTC IME Mod (Nexus S version available here; look for the “high resolution v27” in the first post)
- Smart Keyboard (just started using this one and I LOVE it).

I know some people loooove Swype. In order to get it you have to register here they can send you the download link. Lame I know but I guess they gotta do what they gotta do. The good thing is that Swype gave the Nexus S it’s own personal keyboard skin. It’s very nice looking and matches perfectly with the next Android build, Ice Cream Sandwich. It looks a little something like this:
