Nexus S 4G owners! Remember when Google announced Ice Cream Sandwich would be coming to your phones and you were all excited? And then you waited…and waited…and waited…and it came out for the Nexus S but not for your phone? It was frustrating wasn’t it?
Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners! Remember hearing that the Sprint version of your phone came with $50 and they could use Google Wallet? You paid to use that NFC chip but Verizon blocked you from doing so.
These are the kinds of stories that people are stuck with when carriers are in charge of devices, as well as when they no longer support older devices. And by older I mean 6 months (unfortunately).
To remedy this situation, I highly suggest you root your phones. It sounds scary at first because it is a technical thing to do, but it truly will unleash the power of your phone. Ordinarily this is where I would post what features rooting will bring to your device, even if you’re already an “official” one that was released through your carrier, but I figured video will speak a lot louder than words.
