I hope that everyone had a great Fourth of July! I also hope that you captured some great moments using your device! If you’re not one of those people or if you’re bored with your present camera application then you should check out the ones that I recommend below. And before you ask, no, Instagram isn’t one of them. Just make sure you don’t drop your phone while taking pictures. Be sure to enter my Summer Case Contest and have a chance to win a high quality case for your phone. The contest ends tonight so hurry!
1. The Default Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 App
If you’re already running Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich then you already know how great default camera app is. It takes pictures incredibly quickly, allows you to set the exposure, pick the scene mode and adjust the white balance. It takes tremendously great panoramic photos and seamlessly stitches them together without a hitch. On top of that, the video camera is simple while still maintaining the ability to take great footage. Even better, certain versions of the app such as the one on the HTC One X, can take pictures during video recording.
Filled with a plethora of fun effects, this once costly app is now amazingly free. The app takes high resolution photos, has a revamped user interface, has some unique sharing options and even multiple languages. If you’re just looking to point and shoot you can chose the “greenhand” mode while more seasoned photographers can opt for the “experienced” version, which are both available when the app starts. Some of the effects found in this application are burst mode, sketch, huge head, and my personal favorite, ghost.
A great looking UI can go a long way when it comes to camera apps, and Camera Zoom FX certainly took note of this. If your current camera app doesn’t give you the ability to zoom in, then you may want to switch to this one. Wit just one click you can make your current day photo appear as if it was taken with old film or a Polaroid. Two great features I’d like to mention are the ability to set any physical button as the shutter button, as well as taking a picture through voice activation. Multiple ad ons are available to download as well. If you’re interested make sure you grab up this app while it’s 40% off.
4. Paper Camera
This probably the most fun app out of the bunch. It’s cool to see a normal photo being turned into what looks like a crumbled piece of paper that was sketched on. You can make your photos have bleaching, sketch, neon cola, comic boom or pastel effects. Just have to try the app to experience the fun. It’s on the editors choice list and consistently has a high download rate.
