Are you a little bit upset that the Galaxy S III may not launch in the United States for at least another month? Can’t wait to get your hands on it’s heavenly looking façade? In order to hold you over, a couple of the devices premium apps have become available and you can get your hands on them right now.
The first app presents news in one of the most beautifully done ways that I have ever seen. Flipboard has been out for some time now for iOS, but thankfully it has graced Android users with its presence. In essence, Flipboard is a visual social magazine. In addition to you picking categories that most interest you, the app also incorporates Facebook and Twitter. Once you sign in to one or both accounts Flipboard will then pull that your friends have been sharing in accordance with the categories that you’re interested in. The flipping transitions are what really caught my eye. I’ve spent countless seconds just flipping and flipping through stories just to watch the animated pages go from one side to the other. Actually now that I think about it, the update to Google+ for Android also has a similar transition…but that’s beside the point.

The second featured app is S-Voice. S-Voice seems to be Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Siri. It’s not a very creative name in the least bit, but it does work. I will complete tasks strictly based off of your voice, such as the commonly asked “what’s the weather in ___.” I’m still not big on using my voice to do simple tasks such as looking up the weather since a widget can tell me much faster, but to each their own. The app has been pulled straight from the Galaxy S III so it may not work 100% on your phone. But hey, it’s free so who’s complaining?
