The Factory Images for Nexus Devices have come out, which means that Google has officially rolled out Android 4.4 (Kit Kat) for specific devices. This doesn’t mean mean that Kit Kat is solely available for smartphones, but for tablets as well! Factory images also mean that cell phone manufacturers such as Samsung and HTC are probably already hard at work updating their customized versions of Android 4.4 to release to consumers.
Factory Images (code names are in parenthesis)
Why the Galaxy Nexus doesn’t have a factory image from Google is beyond me. Kit Kit is supposed to be a version of Android capable of running on older devices. Google could have showcased this by releasing factory images for the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus S in order to prove what they say is true. They must have not been in the right mindset when putting their plans together. Fear not! The kind developers out there will definitely put out an Android 4.4 version for the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S, just like they did here and here (yes, I do love me some Slim Bean…or Slim Kat I should say).
