[Dropcaps]Happy Saturday! I know you’re excited about the weekend to be getting away from work and enjoying the things life has to offer. I figured I’d make this eye hopes of making your Friday a little better.[/Dropcaps]
If you haven’t heard by now, the iPhone 5 has been released along with an enormous amount of coverage that’s followed it. That being said, I can’t help but to be a bit jealous. It’s kind of like sports getting all of the attention at major universities to the point that academics become secondary. Just because the new iPhone has been released doesn’t mean that people should forget about Android. In fact, I will give you 4 reasons why the newest Android devices are every bit as good as the iPhone 5.
The iPhone 5 now touts a 4” screen, which is ½” larger than the 5 previous models. Meanwhile, Android has had phones with 4” screens and larger for over a year now on devices such as the Galaxy Nexus, Droid Razr and HTC Inspire.
LTE seems to have become the preferred way to go to get 4G speeds on a phone, and the iPhone 5 has certainly taken advantage of that. However, there are several Android devices on your carrier that have 4G as well. Sprint has 8 other devices that have 4G, Verizon 18, T-Mobile 11 and AT&T with 23.
Personal Voice Assistants
So there you have it! The Android operating system can certainly compete with the iPhone 5’s. If you were thinking of abandoning your trust Android device, hopefully this made you reconsider or at least
made you a little more carefree in regards to all of the iPhone 5 hype. Enjoy your weekend!
Okay okay, since this is contrasting the iPhone 5, it’s only right that I come up with a 5th reason why Android can hold it’s own.
During their keynote, Apple showed off the iPhone 5’s ability to take panoramic pictures by stitching frames together and composing them into one large image. The two newest versions of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) and Jelly Bean (4.1) are also able to take panorama without the need to download a separate app. You can view an example of this here that I took while I was visiting my alma mater The Ohio State University.
Be sure to check your phone’s settings to see if there’s an ice cream sandwich or jelly bean update so that you can enjoy these features as well.[/Info]
